Work

Web & Print Designer, Town of Orono, Maine

04.2018 - present

For Orono's digital presence at orono.org, all user experience of the site (a CivicPlus template) is in my purview, from information architecture and original graphics to page layout and news content. I amplify the site content using Town social media accounts and digital street signage. Working in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, I created a logo for the Orono Public Library, oversaw a redesign of the Town's Annual Report, and built a poster of the library's timeline for its anniversary celebration.

Multimedia Specialist, Penn State University

On the IT UX team I build informational sites that focus on services available to students, faculty and staff.
Project tasks include:
• creating a PSU services resource site for staff web programmers
• logo, web graphic and infographic design
• writing department site content, running student usability testing
• web accessibility site remediation, including training sessions for editors
• event video shooting/editing/captioning, event photography

Web Ad Trafficker, TechTarget

12.2006 - 06.2008

As Online Media Trafficker, I scheduled banner ad runs on TechTarget’s network of Web sites & maintained a database of newsletter ads. Communicated with client creative staff & a rotating team of high-energy campaign managers to ensure smooth execution of Flash & static deliverables. Trained campaign managers on database application software.

Ad Designer, The Boston Courant

07.2003 - 12.2006

The duties as Ad Designer for this weekly metro newspaper included ad creation & maintaining ad scheduling. The Courant staff is small, and working there meant multitasking in a variety of situations. I worked with paper’s contracted printer to ensure quality printing, a relationship that helped equip me with the tools to successfully navigate production issues.
